# at a glance

Five paintings, entered as rooms — an artist's site built as an exhibition, not a grid.

# problem

Melis Tör's paintings ask for time. A conventional portfolio grid — thumbnails, a lightbox, a next arrow — flattens that into scanning.

The site had to do what a good gallery does: give each work its own wall and its own pacing, then get out of the way.

# approach

Structured the site as five rooms, one per painting, entered in sequence rather than skimmed from an index.

Kept the chrome silent — type, spacing, and slow transitions do the framing; nothing competes with the canvas.

Built the pacing to survive reduced motion: with animation off, the rooms still read as rooms.

# outcome

Live. A site that treats viewing as the point, not a step before contact.
