# at a glance
Destination platform around a curated venue dataset. Custom map styling, typed editorial CMS, hybrid venue pages.
# problem
A cultural district needed a digital presence that reflected how visitors move through it — venue by venue, on foot — without becoming another listings directory.
Existing tourism sites tend to fall back to flat city pages or to map-only experiences. The brief asked for both, integrated.
# approach
Pulled a venue dataset from OpenStreetMap as the seed, normalized into a typed content model in Payload CMS for the editorial team to extend.
Built the map layer in MapLibre GL with custom styling matched to the district's identity instead of defaults.
Each venue page is a hybrid of editorial copy, structured opening hours and contact, and a contextual mini-map.
